What I like most is the slim design. It easily slides into my laptop bag without adding bulk, and it feels sturdy enough for daily use. The 60W pass-through charging kept my laptop powered while I had everything else connected. The only downside is that it runs a little warm after long sessions, but not enough to cause concern.
If you need a reliable, travel-ready hub that can replace a desktop dock, this one has been a dependable pick.
The Gearmo is fairly small, thin, and light, making it easy to throw around in a backpack or luggage. It requires no additional power to function but can input up to 60w of power to charge your device while it is attached. Something to note, the dock does become quite warm when it is charging your source device. The USB-A ports, MicroSD, SD, and HDMI ports worked without issue. I have not tested the Ethernet or VGA ports to comment further. While a non-issue for my computer, having a headphone jack would have been a nice touch since this is starting to disappear from newer computers now.
Overall, this has worked perfectly fine for my use case, and it is nice to have for whenever it is needed. Easy to recommend.
Up front: I have not tested all the ports on this device yet (no need for some of them). So far the USB 3 ports and the SD card reader check out OK.
I was unable to get my monitor to show up using the HDMI port. That may be more a matter of my OS or the cable. Dunno. I did not want to waste any more time as I do not need a hub with this function anyway.
I was disappointed that the lone USB C port seems to be for pass-thru power only. I could not get any device to register on my Mac using it. That's a shame as there is so much more need these days for USB C ports than USB 3 ports.
I feel that this hub will be best suited for users of older computers and older peripherals who are stuck at USB 3 and VGA/HDMI connections, without any USB C devices. You will need to use up one of your USB 3 ports for hooking up your older iPhone or Android device. Now you only have two other useable data ports.
It does have an Ethernet port though, which is a boon for those folks wanting a hard-wired connection, when wi-fi is just not fast enough or not available.
If you have a modern computer, wi-fi, and a lot of USB C devices, there are better options out there for a similar price.
This TINY - docking station has so many ports! I use each one of these individually. Now I can have them all in one place! WooHoo!
This is a nice compact little device. I recommend this for anyone who has multiple device use at one time!
